Seven Days in Heaven

Rev Emmanuel Twagirimana: Nairobi Kenya

Caught in the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, Emmanuel was struck by shrapnel from a bomb that hit his neighbour's house. His left arm and leg were damaged so completely they were useless. Because of the war’s intensity, Twagirimana was moved to a makeshift hospital in a school building. Patients lay on beds, unable to receive medical attention or even eat.

Emmanuel died as a result of his untreated wounds and was taken to heaven and hell during his death experience. With no time to bury the dead, Emmanuel's body still lay in a corner, wrapped in sheets.  He was miraculously brought back to life and sent to the world with a message of forgiveness and reconciliation. He sat up suddenly and began to preach. The injured around him now found some energy - they were fleeing in terror. After the initial shock, they all received salvation.

Emmanuel was alive and the fever was gone, but he was still seriously injured. His decaying left arm was missing inches of bone (humerus) and his left leg was shattered. Medical attention finally came, but the prognosis was grim - amputate both limbs without delay.

Told by God that he would keep his limbs, Emmanuel refused the operation three times. In the end the hospital staff threw this rebellious patient out of the hospital. Meanwhile, a doctor from Australia had been sent by God to find a Christian man with injuries to his left arm and leg, who matches a hand-drawn sketch of his face and whose name was Emmanuel Twagirimana. They met at Centre Hospitalier de Kigali.

Pelvic bone was grafted into Emmanuel's arm, and precise metal inserts were fitted. The external fitting on his arm was removed in an English hospital in 1999. He could not walk unaided until the day of his marriage, the 7th of July 2001, when God healed him through a dream.
Despite the many witnesses in the hospital, there was initial doubt concerning his claims.  Apostolic Bishop of the Redeemed Gospel Church, Bishop Dr. A. Kitonga, talked to a cross-section of church leaders who substantiated this back-to-life testimony. According to Kitonga, this story is a bonafide compilation of events following death, including a tour of heaven and hell.

His time in ministry is characterized by signs and wonders, calling people to forgive and live in peace. Many have been healed, like a business man in USA with terminal stomach cancer who had 3 months to live. That was in 1998, and he is now working for the gospel. Two others have been raised from the dead in Mwanza, Tanzania. HIV/Aids sufferers were healed in England.

"...It is extremely important that you and I stand up to be counted among God's end-time generals. Simply because the Truth lives in us and He saved us, we qualify to become the solution to the world... You don't have to have died and resurrected for God to use you greatly, as simple as your testimony is - God wants to use you."

“Have you wondered what happens after death? . . . It gives a clear biblical pattern of God’s calling, testing, and fulfillment. It provides a case study toward understanding the ways of the Lord, His precepts, commandments, statutes, laws, and judgment.” - Rev. Francis K. Sang, Ph.D., General overseer of IFC Churches
